FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can I bring my own GoPro/Camera?
Rapid Boarders allows the use of personal GoPro’s. These will be mounted to the tops of helmets and will remain hands free. Rapid boarders takes no responsibility of personal Go-Pros and the use of such on the river is at your own risk. Rapid Boarders highly recommend a tether/safety strap attached to your GoPro. For safety reasons, ALL other cameras are NOT allowed on the river with you.

What time do we get picked up?
Tully River 5:45am | Barron River 11:30am
These times are a guide only and may vary depending on pick up location. Pick up locations and times will be confirmed at time of booking.

What time will we return?
Tully River 4:30pm | Barron River 4pm
These times are a guide only and return times may vary.

Why do I need shoes?
While doing the training and portage, we require you to wear shoes as the rocks can be slippery and sharp. Any enclosed shoes that can be ‘done up’ are fine, eg runners/sneakers, sandshoes, dive shoes. No sandals, flip flops/thongs. While you are river boarding you will wear fins, which we supply for your use during the day.

How strong a swimmer do I need to be?

Rapid Boarders requires that you be reasonably confident in the water. We require that you can swim and that you are happy floating in water where you will not be able to stand up. You will be wearing a life jacket, however, it is the confidence to remain calm in the water that we need from you. White water river boarding is a physically demanding sport and you will be tired by the end of the day.

What is your minimum age?
Minimum age requirement is 16 years of age accompanied by a participating guardian. This is due to safety regulations so this cannot be changed.
